WHY SOCIAL DESIGN LABS?

The nonprofit world is full of talented, passionate people who want to change society. Yet taking responsibility for people's lives, the complexity of achieving social change, and limited resources and support for the sector results in ambiguous outcomes and high levels of stress. Social Design Labs is a nonprofit consultancy that helps leaders in the charity world make step-changes in how they pursue their mission. We use the latest social innovation methods and tools to make your life easier and improve the lives of your beneficiaries.

A Brief History

Founder and consultant Daren Williams launched Social Design Labs in 2015 to house the innovations and IP being created through his work with small charities. This work applied leading social innovation approaches to real-world problems, delivering sustainable change for client organisations. Services are offered as paid or probono assignments, depending on need and funding.

Our principles

We carry out our work in line with our guiding principles: building human capabilities, openness, transparency, radical ideas, social justice, and environmental balance and sustainability. In particular, we prioritise working with organisations championing human capabilities and social justice. Our approach to these fields is summarised below.

We would love to collaborate with other passionate individuals on projects and across clients. We're interested in people of all backgrounds and experience, including:

people who have worked in charities, government or business and want to use their professional expertise to make a real difference
